Task Creation, Uploading RAMS and Assigning Tasks

In this video, we guide you through how to create a new task in Intuety and how tasks now support greater flexibility for assigning and managing RAMS and supporting documents.

1. Creating a New Task: To begin, click “New Task” in the top right-hand corner of your project view. This will open a window where you can enter key task details.

2. Naming the Task: Provide a clear and descriptive task name. Avoid using vague terms, abbreviations, references, or company names. The platform includes helpful tips on what to include and what to avoid. A good example: Trial Hole Investigation Works — this makes the task easy to identify later.

3. Assigning the Task
If your project has contractors or supply chain partners engaged, you’ll see the Assign Task option. Here, you can choose to:

  • Assign the task to a contractor

  • Keep it within your own company

  • Leave it unassigned for now

4. Uploading or Skipping RAMS
After assigning the task, click Next. At this stage, you can upload your Risk Assessment and Method Statement (RAMS) immediately, or choose to skip this step. If you skip, the system will still create the task and label it as Awaiting Risk Assessment.

5. Managing Task Files
Once the task is created, you can click into it at any time to upload your RAMS. You can also attach additional files such as permits or forms required before the RAMS are added — perfect if your process involves preliminary documentation.

6. Flexibility for Contractors
You can create and assign tasks to contractors even if you don’t have the RAMS ready. This allows the contractor to upload their RAMS later — whether that’s tomorrow or next month. Once assigned, the contractor will see the task and be able to add their documents when ready.

7. Supporting Different Workflow The platform still supports the traditional approach of uploading RAMS during task creation. But now, if you need to build out a task with extra documentation or use it as a placeholder before RAMS are available, you can. Intuety is flexible enough to support a variety of workflows.
